Rings get the biggest budgets

Chart: 25% of ring designers choose a budget over ₪5,000, versus 10–18% for other jewelry

One in four ring designers (25%) chose a budget over ₪5,000, versus 18% for bracelets, 15% for necklaces and 10% for earrings. Rings are also what the most Israelis design – 42% of designers made at least one. A ring with a center stone or a diamond setting reaches the thousands quickly; for what each range buys, see how much an engagement ring costs.

Men's jewelry gets bigger budgets

Chart: 29% of men's jewelry designers choose a budget over ₪5,000, versus 17% for women's jewelry

Only 9% of designers are designing for a man, but their budgets are higher: 29% chose over ₪5,000, versus 17% for women's jewelry, and 8% chose ₪20,000+ – more than twice the rate for women's pieces (3.5%). Men's jewelry is usually heavier – signet rings, thick chains and bracelets – so it holds more gold and costs more. More in our guide to men's gold jewelry.

Israelis design jewelry at night

Chart: designers by the hour of their first design – the peak is 10 pm

The busiest hour for designing jewelry is 10 pm, followed by 9 pm and 8 pm. Over a third of designers (36%) start between 8 pm and 2 am – probably after work, once the house has quieted down. There's a smaller midday wave between 1 pm and 4 pm. Weekdays are nearly identical, and activity drops by about 20% on Friday and Saturday.

What Israelis ask for

Chart: the most common motifs in jewelry descriptions – diamonds 22%, delicate 11%, heart 9%

We analyzed the descriptions of 4,878 designers who wrote in Hebrew (their own words only, not instructions added automatically). Diamonds lead by far – one in five designers (22%). Next come delicate, minimal designs (11%) and hearts (9%). The colored gems – ruby, emerald and sapphire – are nearly tied at 3–4% of designers each. About 4% mention children, usually names or a stone for each child. The Star of David and the hamsa are in a dead heat at 1.6% each.

Designers rarely stop at the first draft either: 62% of designers refined their design in a chat with the AI – "too thin, a bit thicker", "round stones, all the same size". Tips for better prompts in how to describe jewelry to an AI.

Methodology

  • Source: designs created in the Gold AI design studio (goldai.co.il) between January 25 and November 2, 2026 – 9,135 designs by 5,700 designers.
  • Each designer counts once. Some users made dozens of designs (one made 404), so every figure is computed per designer, not per design.
  • Budget: the range the designer picked while designing (added in May 2026) – 2,786 designers, using each designer's most frequent budget per jewelry type. The ₪2,000–3,500 and ₪3,500–5,000 ranges were merged into ₪2,000–5,000.
  • Men's / women's: who the piece is for, as chosen by the designer – not the designer's gender.
  • Motifs: keyword search over the Hebrew descriptions of 4,878 designers, excluding later modifications.
  • Hours: Israel time, by each designer's first design.
  • All figures are aggregated and anonymous; no identifying customer details are included.
